About SHE KC
SHE KC is a product of Five Star Media of Kansas City, the company that owns and publishes Kansas City Sports & Fitness Magazine. KC Sports & Fitness has been a mainstay in Kansas City for 14 years, publishing and reaching over 70,000 consumers each month.
With SHE KC, Five Star Media expands its audience of Kansas Citians interested in sports, health and exercise.
In addition, SHE KC is continually developing a leadership team to provide direction for the publication. This team is comprised of influential members of the sports community who are directly involved in girls and women’s sports in KC.
Brenda VanLengen is part of the leadership team for SHE KC . Brenda is a 15-year veteran women's sports broadcaster and has served as a game analyst for NCAA women's basketball on ESPN, Fox Sports Net, CBS College Sports, and Metro Sports locally, plus WNBA coverage on NBATV. She has also served as analyst for the Big 12 Conference package on Fox Sports Net since 1998. In addition, she has called the Division II National Championship Game the past five years and has broadcast NCAA Division I Tournament games since 1999. VanLengen served as Executive Director of the 1998 NCAA Women's Final Four hosted by Kansas City, has served on the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission Board of Directors and the Women's Intersport Network (WIN) for Kansas City for ten years.
She is the host of “She’s Got Game” an hour-long radio program heard twice a week on SportsRadioKC.com and was the acting Executive Director for PE4Life, a national organization that focuses on school-based, daily physical education programs and lifetime, health-related physical activity and fitness.
